SpeedRay 3000 Mobile High-Speed Internet
Produced by engineering firm RaySat, the SpeedRay 3000 is a roof-mounted, low-profile antenna that
turns any vehicle into a rolling high-speed "hot spot" for laptops and PDAs with WiFi wireless
networking technology. To provide a continuous signal feed, the SpeedRay's antenna rotates inside
the low-profile roof-mounted housing and the WiFi transceiver is built into the antenna housing, so
the entire package is self-contained. Installation involves mounting the box on the roof and running a
few wires for power. The SpeedRay 3000 will be available midyear 2005, and will retail for $3,495.
