Saint Sabina
Attacks  the Hip
Hop Industry
“Stop Listening to Trash!”  Saint Sabina, the Southside church in Chicago,
makes it simple to understand what they’re after and they have no apologies
to offer for the “trash rappers” that they openly target with their twenty
billboards throughout the city.

Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Nelly, 50 Cent & G-Unit, Ludacris, Chicago
native Twista and “all negative rappers” are among the ten rappers targeted
on the billboards because, as the church claims, their message “demean
women and perpetuate violence.”

A spokesman for the church stated, “If we are going to end the violence and
the disrespect of women, we must fight every form of negativity, including the
music industry,” Rev. Michael Pfleger said of the campaign in a statement.”

This isn’t the first time that Rev. Pfleger and Saint Sabina have spoken out
against hot topic issues.  In the past Saint Sabina has taken on racism,
racism, the retail sale of drug paraphernalia and grain alcohol and the rise of
alcohol and tobacco billboards in the African-American community.

There are currently 10 billboards placed around Chicago:

87th & Vincennes 79th & Normal

79th & Ada 74th & Racine

79th & Ashland Halsted & Garfield

103rd & Wallace 79th & Western

119th & Wallace 107th & Michigan

115th & Forest 63rd & Wood

14th & Kedzie Keeler & Roosevelt

Kedvale & Ogden Fillmore & California

No word yet on how the rappers plan to counteract the attacks or whether it
concerns them at all or not.
